First (documented) Snow Encounter

So, while Lily had her first actual encounter with snow last week, we forgot to take the camera outside, so this is her first documented encounter. FYI- she didn't like the first time very much at all. She screamed while standing on our deck, out of the snow, while Daniel made a snowman for her.

This encounter with snow started a little better- unsure, but not screaming.

 Then mom had the bright idea of making a baby snow angel- bad choice. lol.

Christmas has Arrived!

Thanksgiving is done, black friday accomplished and now its time to start on Christmas! I'm so excited because this is my favorite time of year. One of my favorite things about it is getting everyone's Christmas cards. I love seeing the new family pictures and hear about how their year was. I also usually dread it too. I hate trying to put ours together, which is why you've only ever seen one from us...

So here's where I give you all an awesome tip! Shutterfly, one of my favorite photo sites, has amazingly adorable and customizable Christmas cards.

Thanksgiving

This year, Lily got to enjoy her first Thanksgiving eating the food! Here is the pre-dinner pic with Dad.

It was exhausting!

Remlinger Farms

Today, we headed out to Remlinger Farms in Carnation, WA for their Fall Festival. This trip was actually supposed to have been last weekend with other kids & parents from daycare, but we had an urgent trip to the vet that postponed our plans.

 

The petting zoo was definitely not a hit for Lily...

 

We had to think about whether the train ride was ok, but it ended up being a blast!

Driving a car, however, was an even bigger hit. (She's taking after her dad in that one!)

Then it started really pouring, (it was sprinkling through the whole trip) so we called it a day- and I got this adorable pic of Lily with the pumpkins and haystacks while Daniel was running to get the car for us so we wouldn't get soaked.

All of these were done on our phones, because we forgot the camera, so please forgive the quality issues ;)

Whidbey Island, Aug 21-22

Last weekend we spent time at the Booth's cabin on Whidbey Island. It was great fun! We got to:

Start Lily on her modeling career

See the wildlife

Spend time with our family and "family"

And enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Perfect baby?

This is for those who say my baby is perfect... It's all an act, I promise.

Isn't it nice to have your work appreciated? This is homemade mac and cheese...

Daniel appreciated it too- though he didn't make quite the same amount of mess.

5 years later

Five years ago today, I married the love of my life, my best friend, and my rock. I have loved every minute of our adventures together. We've gotten two BYU degrees, a UW certificate, lived in 4 apartments, bought a house, made it through a pink slip, 60 hr work week schedules, and Lily. We've done quite a bit in 5 years, haven't we? Here's to the next five years!

Some crafts

So, my bed has had a beautiful quilt on it for the last year or so, but I decided it needed some prettying up still and made pillow shams and throw pillows to match it. Luckily I still had the scraps left from making the quilt and mixed it with a new fabric for the actual shams.

So Lily isn't a throw pillow, but I figured I better put some in to keep your attention...

Here's another craft I finished in recent memory too- I beaded tiebacks for the dining room curtains..Aren't they pretty?

Extra Special Bath

Papaya got a little too interested in Lily's bath... I did keep him there, but I didn't start it. She thought it was hilarious after she thought it through- she was concerned about sharing her bath at first. Yes, I did wash the baby again after I got the cat shampooed and out. (It was too good an opportunity to not wash him too!)
