Christmas Sunday

Look how well we clean up! We took these today after church, and before we could degenerate into the messes that babies inevitably cause. It's nice to think that we can look like this once in a while. Below are close-ups of the dress I made for Lily for Christmas.

Christmas Crafts

I'm pretty proud of this first project. Its Lily's stocking. I embroidered the nativity scene and quilted the rest. It is the same pattern as Daniel and my stockings- as well as the rest of my family, so now we all match! (But her's is the best :) )

The picture below is of Lily's Christmas dress. Can you see the new focus of my Christmas projects? (Answer: Lily) Actually, she's really the focus of all my projects these days. Anyway, this is a derivative of Lily's blessing dress, made out of red shantung silk, cropped shorter and with lattice smocking on the bodice which I found on Summer and Ben's blog. Thanks for the tutorial Summer!

I'll post pictures of Lily in the dress shortly!

Lily's First Christmas

Well, seeing as she's only three months old, we didn't expect a lot of interest in presents, paper and such. But, we got this really cute video of her when the paper did catch her attention.

We are having so much fun with the family in Utah and are thinking about our family in California. We love you!

Learning about Conference

Here is Dad teaching Lily how to watch afternoon conference...

It only gets better when you realize that this is the full version of the picture... Daddy, Lily and Faithful- all asleep during conference.

Seattle living...

I promised Daniel I would post about this... During afternoon conference, Papaya started acting funny, but I just assumed he was playing with a toy- well Daniel went to investigate and he was playing with a toy... Too bad the "toy" was a live frog. How did a frog get in my house?? I hate creepy crawlies in my house! At least I have cats to keep them cornered and away from me...

She's here

Lily Camille Fletcher arrived on September 18th, 2009 at 6:32 pm after 23 hours of labor and a c-section.
With mom- you don't really need to see what I looked like after 24 hours of labor- I promise.
With her proud Daddy!

Proof- and more

First, proof of the fact that my guest room has, after just over a year in this house, finally been cleaned and gotten new carpet and blinds!! The previous carpet looked like it had been there since the house was built in the 1960's...

This second picture has a peek at the new blinds... not a great picture of it, but, definitely better than the standard, horizontal, broken blinds that were there before. The blinds other blinds were "broken" by my intelligent cats- who chewed through the strings because they thought that they were fun toys. These are stringless, so the cats shouldn't be able to hurt them. lol.

This is a picture of the shelves in the closet- which we put in a few weeks ago- and then I proceeded to fill them with all my craft stuff- maybe I'll get some stuff finished and moved out of there ;)
Also, a couple of the things I've been working on for Lily- first, a crocheted edge flannel blanket

And second, an applique quilt that I've just started. I've never done applique before, so- its going kinda slow, but I like how its turning out so far. There will also be daisies, dragonflies and calla lilies (which were drawn by Daniel).

For Becca, Kristine and Maren

Here are a few pictures of what the grandmas have been working on this week.

These are two layette sets- mine, but Teri was using the same pattern for you Kristine- just different fabric. They forgot to bring the stuff Teri made down to the cabin for me to see :(

These are a thrift store find, but I had to include them! The baby Reef sandals are just too cute!

Here is the beginning of the sweaters- the grandma's are pretty much consumed by these. But they're all adorable. The blue and white one is for baby boy Booth, the pink and white and periwinkle are for baby girl Fletcher.

This the the apple green yarn that Teri was telling you about Kristine, and it will be the middle sweater in the picture below it. Sorry that's kinda small...

This is another pattern and yarn that Teri has for you Kristine... Its very cute!

Are we all super excited now?? I sure am!! Love you girls! The only way this weekend could have been better is if you all had been there... I missed you!

Cherry Blossoms

The backyard is so beautiful in spring!! Look at my cherry blossoms and be jealous!!

In other news, I felt the baby kick for the first time yesterday!! Of course, now baby won't stop kicking, especially when hungry or when I place something on my stomach. I can only be afraid of what will happen when baby is bigger...

The countdown is on...

Well, the secret is out- for those of you who don't know, we're pregnant. I'm due September 29, 2009... We find out if its a boy or girl next month. Daniel says its a boy, I say its a girl- mostly because I'm contrary like that. I don't have any real feeling either way. We're working out the name thing- we have a boy name mostly picked and are starting to narrow down girl names, though I reserve the right to change my mind until the baby comes. I'm making some blankets and things that can go either way, but I'm excited to find out so I can really start sewing and shopping.
