The Nativity

We took Lily to a live Nativity/Night in Bethlehem (can't remember what they called it) on Sunday in Utah. She was a little nervous about the people dressed up- I should have remembered that, since she isn't fond of most characters at Disneyland. But she listened very raptly when we went in the room with the manger scene. She listened to Mary sing "Mary's Lullaby" to Baby Jesus and as Mary sat back down with Joseph, I started trying to explain/retell the story at a 3 year old level. After I did, she said "But where did they put the baby?" And I explained that the baby slept in the wooden cradle because there were no beds left in the inn. She looks at it all again and says, "But they have a carpet!" (The stage was carpeted.) Too smart for her own good!
